Tim Baker

A classic of the techno and house scene. Born in Detroit, he spent over fifteen years behind the decks in clubs and events around the world, which took him to countries like the UK, Germany, and France. He played in such iconic venues as the Tresor Berliner, the Florida 135 of Fraga—whom he frequented for a long time—or the Rex Parisian, and at festivals like the Love Parade from Berlin. Those trips inspired him to found his own techno label in his hometown, Elephanthaus Records. In 1998 he moved from Detroit to Chicago, and the move led him to create his house music label., Real Estate Records, which blended the advanced and futuristic creation of Detroit funk with the aroma of the Chicago sound: the purest form of house music, which brought him success with the series Future House Society. His relationship with Spain, in addition to his countless visits to the north, grew even closer in the late 90s with collaborations on emerging labels of that time, such as the Barcelona-based label Minifunk and the man from Madrid Options, formerly in the Atlas orbit.

In the 21st century, he continued to enrich his labels' repertoire by discovering new, innovative, and creative talents, taking his music to new territories and showcasing his unique vision and sound to the world. His driving force remained the same: top-notch DJ performances, distinctive production, and quality music for the people. His legacy continues to resonate.
